How would you like to grow the denomination by keeping as members the children raised in our churches? Statistics show that other comparable denominations are much more successful at retention than Unitarian Universalists. Come and learn how we can double our annual growth through improving our retention rate.

Friends,

This Tuesday, October 5th,  the Rev. Christana Wille McKnight is guest offering her presentation “How to Grow Unitarian Universalism by Keeping Our Kids”  in our ongoing UU Growth Webinar Series.

When it comes to growth, I can’t think of a more urgent issue then figuring out how to address the fact that we lose most of the children and youth growing up in our faith.

If there’s time,  I’ll share some of my ideas as well, though that may need to be tabled for a follow up webinar.  We’ll see!

Please help spread the word about this webinar.  You may click the “Tweet This” and “Share” buttons below.  Thanks!  ~ Peter

  1. Excited for this webinar & forwarded to my RE committee as well.
Questions for you and Rev McKnight —
Do youth/adult UU retention rates differ at all geographically? Or is it pretty consistent across the board?
Are you also looking at the drop off from Middle School to Hight School (an issue in my congregation)?
Do we see an uptick in adult UUs returning after they have kids?
Have you looked at retention rates at Reform Synagogues?

      1. Thanks for the reply. I didn’t realize it cost $10 to listen to the audio. I wonder if that’s counter-productive to the spread of information and tactics? When I was president of the Central Midwest District (finished a term last year), our webinars didn’t cost anything. Just an idea.

  2. Yes we do charge for our webinars. That is in part due to the fact that my position with the district is very part time and the proceeds from the webinars help fund additional time for me to work with our congregations. In the near future I hope to record our webinars and make available via Slidershare as some other districts do.

      1. Only my district position is part time. I’m nearly a full time free range UU consultant and change agent available on a fee for service basis to congregations, districts, regions, clusters, UUMA and LREDA chapters, and related organizations with the Ballou Channing District being just one of my clients. I work on-site, via telephone, Skype and offer coaching via email. 😉
